Balder is a fictional character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, he is inspired by Scandinavian mythology, bastard son of Odin and brother of Thor, he possesses the strength of the Asgardians and the gift of projecting blinding light, he made his first appearance in the comic "Journey in Mystery" No. 85 in October 1962.
