Hussar is a character from the Marvel Comics universe and a former member of the Imperial Guard, a multi-ethnic group of superhuman extraterrestrials who serve as enforcers of law for the Shi’ar Empire. She was first introduced in X-Men #137 by creators Chris Claremont, John Byrne, and Terry Austin. Hussar was one of the eight Imperial Guardsmen selected to fight the X-Men in a battle over the fate of Phoenix, a cosmic force that had taken the form of Jean Grey, one of the X-Men.

Later, she became involved in conspiracies to overthrow Lilandra Neramani, the Majestrix Princess of the Shi’ar Empire. Hussar also engaged in battles against other superhero teams such as Excalibur and the Starjammers. She possesses powers that allow her to channel bioelectric energy to paralyze her opponents’ motor functions and uses a neurological whip to affect the nervous systems of her enemies.
