Creators and History:First appearing in X-Men 2099 #1 in 1993, Krystalin (Ruthueue "Krystalin" Porter) was created by John Francis Moore and Ron Lim. As a cornerstone member of Desert Ghost’s team, she possesses the mutant ability to condense atmospheric minerals into solid, razor-sharp crystalline structures. Emerging from a dystopian future where mutants are hunted by the forces of Alchemax, she embodies resilience and purity within a corrupt and dark technological world. Her role as a protector and her unwavering loyalty to Xi'an Chi Xan’s cause make her an essential figure of the 2099 era.

My Artistic Vision:For this 1/7 scale bust, my intention was to capture the duality between the apparent fragility of crystal and its deadly sturdiness. I paid particular attention to the dynamic flow of the scarves and the pose to provide an airy lightness that contrasts with the sharp, angular shapes of her mineral creations. The texture work aims to capture the refraction of light on crystalline surfaces, offering a technical challenge that is highly rewarding in digital sculpture. This piece is not merely a character representation but an exploration of matter and movement within a futuristic universe.
