Conceived by John Francis Moore and Ron Lim, Metalhead made his first notable appearance in X-Men 2099 #1 in October 1993, immediately establishing himself as the essential colossus of this new mutant era.

The Character: Eddie Munson, aka Metalhead, the Colossus of New York, is one of the pillars of the 2099 X-Men. A mutant capable of transforming his skin into any metal with a simple touch, he embodies raw power and resilience in a ruthless cyberpunk future. Artist's Vision & Technical Specifications: My intention with this sculpture was to capture the imposing mass and almost industrial stature of Metalhead. I favored massive volumes and lines of force that accentuate the density of its metallic skin, creating a striking contrast between human anatomy and the coldness of steel.
