Nicolai KRYLENKO, alias Vanguard, is a superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. Created by writer Bill Mantlo and artist Carmine Infantino, the fictional character first appeared in April 1978 in the comic book Iron Man (vol. 1) No. 109.

Vanguard is a mutant who can repel any force directed against him by erecting an invisible force field around his body that reflects attacks launched against him. He also has the ability to fly by repelling the Earth.

Vanguard can focus and multiply his powers with his hammer and sickle by crossing his two weapons with each other, they also automatically return to their point of origin after being thrown.
